My name is Malena VanBeveren. I am from a small town named Plainville, Connecticut. I am currently enrolled at University New England studying Health Wellness Occupational Studies (HWOS). My plan is to study to become a pediatric occupational therapist. I became interested in this topic because I like working with kids and helping them.I love the idea of helping people with problems and coming up with creative ways to help them. I originally wanted to be a physical therapist but one day I shadowed a pediatric occupational therapist and fell in love. The kids were so sweet and just interacting with them by playing with toys or reading to them had interested me. In my free time, I like to explore the outdoors. I love hiking, skiing and fishing. I am also athletic. I like to play soccer, basketball, beach volleyball and run track. I don’t like to just sit around, it makes me bored. I also am not the biggest fan of reading and writing. I am a creative person, not through writing, but for projects such as creating an app to a presentation. I am a shy type of person who doesn’t like expressing themself or having to present to other people. I can be a talkative person when you get to know me.
